Analyzing copy number variation in cancer tissues can be a difficult task due to the heterogeneity of the cell population. The soon-to-be-released version 6.0 of Nexus Copy Number has a number of new tools that will help address these issues. In this presentation, we will demonstrate how to evaluate a population of tumor samples using ASCAT (1) and how to perform paired analysis from a single individual (detecting only differences between a tumor and its matching normal sample). The ASCAT processing is applicable to SNP arrays and generates estimates of the sample ploidy, the copy number, as well as the extent of contamination of the tumor (mixture of normal cells in the sample). These new features will be demonstrated through a live analysis session.
This webinar will be presented by Dr. Peter Van Loo (currently at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Cambridge, UK), the primary creator of the ASCAT algorithm, and Dr. Soheil Shams, Founder, and CSO of BioDiscovery. – References: 1. Van Loo et. al. 2010. PNAS 107 (39) 16910-16915.
This webinar is geared towards researchers studying cancer and performing CNV and LOH analysis from array data. It is appropriate for new and established Nexus users as the features covered are new to version 6.0 of Nexus Copy Number.
